David Komer – Interactive Media.

David grew up with computers. He was influenced by his father, who is a computer network engineer for the City of Houston. By the time he was 14, he began to specialize in computer programming.

At the age of 17, he moved to New York and was accepted to IDT’s multimedia study program. He then started working professionally at IDT and was mentored by Golan Ben-Oni, IDT’s VP for network architecture. He became skilled in internet video delivery, and programmed a search and delivery system for video, audio, and text- which he hardcoded as a C-language module directly into an Apache web server.

At the age of 21, David made Aliyah to Israel where he studied at Yeshiva and then joined the Israeli Army. After the army, he was recommended by the head of IDT’s multimedia program to work with film director, Ashley Lazarus and his company CinevisionUSA on internet and multimedia productions.

For three years he honed his skills as a Flash/Actionscript/PHP programmer and designer – and worked on developing interactive media and websites for CinevisionUSA and The Destiny Foundation.

During that time, David also built numerous exhibitions and websites for COJS- the Center for Online Jewish Studies in New York and worked with Ardon Bar-Hama, Israel’s leading archival photographer to develop online websites and touch screen museum exhibitions for clients in Israel, Europe, and the United States. These include the Juilliard Music School Manuscript Collection in New York, the Dead Sea Scrolls Digital Exhibition at the Israel Museum Jerusalem, and a project for the New York Philharmonic Digital Archives- amongst other clients.

David lives with his wife and daughter in Nofey Pratt, right outside of Jerusalem.
